Eastbourne Aquarium And Reptile Centre

Eastbourne Aquarium And Reptile Centre_Shop Front
Eastbourne Aquarium and Reptile Centre has been trading for over 40 years and is one of Eastbourne's best known shops.

The shop is located in the town centre, approximately 200 yards from the sea.

The Eastbourne Aquarium Centre first opened its doors on 12 December 1969 and was run by Colin George who owned the shop for thirty years until his retirement. At this point the Lock Family bought the business.

James and his father Andrew, who had previously been customers, have continued to improve and expand the shop's range.

After the addition of reptiles, the name of the business was changed to Eastbourne Aquarium and Reptile Centre.

An interesting fact is that prior to its current use the shop premises has served many other purposes including: a bakery, a bomb shelter during World War II and most bizarre of all a mortuary. This might explain the rumours of various ghostly happenings over the years!

If you fancy taking a visit to the shop here is a map and the opening hours.
